The Colyer Institute is based on the original works of Sir Frank Colyer, who at the turn of the century, was doing research which clearly demonstrated the critical link between oral/dental problems and overall systemic health in animals. The Institute is a fully approved tax exempt organization, established in 1982 with three primary objectives:

1. Provide clinical care in selected situations where local facilities have neither the funds nor the means to provide appropriate solutions.

2. Establish a solid communication and educational program

		for the public
		for the veterinary medical  community
		and for the wildlife administrative community.

3. Conduct relevant research in the area of oral medicine and nutrition in exotic animals.
